The flushing is being performed to clear the system of objectionable rust.

 Light yellow to red water shall occur during flushing from disruption of iron deposits.

It is recommended that you avoid using your laundry facilities during the scheduled flushing hours due to the possibility of rust staining your clothes.  Please check a cold water faucet for discoloration prior to doing laundry.

If you notice a discoloration of the water after flushing operations have ceased, please run the cold water from a faucet until it clears from 5 to 10 minutes. If rust colored water continues, please contact the City of Peshtigo at (715) 582-3041 with the address location.
